BT - Fibre to the Home

Fibre Optic Broadband Design - BT Superfast Infinity Broadband (NGA / BDUK / SEP)

Following on from a significant involvement with FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet) over the past 8 years, FTTH is a natural transition for Enterprise Surveys to be involved in, bringing a wealth of experience from a surveying aspect to this specific sector in the Telecommunication industry. Our role is to design the optimum and most cost effective route to install a Fibre optic network either underground or overhead pinpointing a proposed Aggregation Node (Agg Node) location, Splitter Node locations and the CBT positions close to the customer's home. We carry out a comprehensive walk through survey of the proposed Fibre route highlighting and detailing on drawings with photographic evidence any potential build issues and resolving them on site during the survey. It is also important at this stage to determine land ownership of particular sections of a proposed route, potential wayleaves can be highlighted and in many situations can be discussed with land owners during the survey process. Following the survey we create a specific work pack for each job and any build changes will have an A55 produced highlighting the change before build commences. This element of the process is produced using various Microsoft Excel packages. All of our in-house surveyors have completed the NRSWA Streetworks Unit 2 Signing, Lighting and Guarding training.
