Gigaclear - Ultra fast Fibre rollout in Devon and Cornwall

Gigaclear PLC are a relatively new company formed in 2011 to help provide rural communities with an ultrafast pure fibre network straight to the home. More recently Gigaclear has been awarded a BDUK contract for Devon and Somerset (CDS) and this is where Enterprise Surveys Ltd come into the frame to help assist the civils element to the rollout programme. Our role is to provide an accurate survey of Gigaclears proposed fibre cable routes by producing a validation survey. Tasks undertaken by us for this project are:

●  Accurately measuring the proposed fibre cable routes and detailing all surface types that will require excavating. A typical route can be from 15km - 40km.

●  Detail any potential special engineering design issues on route and record GPS co-ordinates of each location, detail the potential build issue and back this up with photographic evidence.

●  Record and highlight on sketches the future customers fibre access point (POT) close to the property.

●  Produce a detailed Traffic management report of the proposed route and also produce a video of the route to help assist the civils teams prior to the build phase.
